What to Expect During a Pro Cataloging Session

If you're reading this post, you've probably already thought about getting your wardrobe cataloged or even tried to do it yourself. A beautifully cataloged wardrobe has many benefits, allowing you to:

  • Keep track of what you actually own in your closet

  • More easily plan, visualize, and style outfit

  • Share your wardrobe with friends or stylists to get ongoing styling advice

  • Track the resale value of your closet and create a resale listing with a few clicks of a button

Bigger picture, a digital wardrobe helps you celebrate what you own, amplify the joy of getting dressed, and align your style with your values to minimize waste waste and choose quality over quantity.

Creating a digital wardrobe takes time and discipline. Many of us tried, and most of us have given up, which is why we offer a professional service to make the whole process effortless. The Catalog service is designed to do all the heavy lifting for you, from guiding you through what to catalog to capturing beautiful product photos for your digital wardrobe. An Indyx wardrobe is effortless, functional, and empowering. Here's what to expect when you book a Pro-Indyx appointment to get your wardrobe cataloged with an Indyx Archivist.

We come to you to catalog 100 items in five hours

We highly recommend that you go through your wardrobe before the cataloging session to set aside the items you want to make sure we capture. The more organized you are before the session, the more we can make sure we create a digital wardrobe exactly to your liking.

And, if you have more than 100 items you want us to catalog, then we can certainly help! The best thing to do is to let us know ahead of time, and we will do our best to acommodate your needs by either extending the appointment time or sending a second Archivist to help. We’ll simply invoice you at a rate of $2 per item above the initial 100.

If you let your Archivist know the day-of then we would be happy to catalog as many items as we can within the five hour appointment window - again, invoicing you for $2 per additional item.

We only need 20 minutes of your time during the whole session

You're welcome to join us during the cataloging session if you have questions or are simply curious about our process.

But we know you're busy, which is why you’ve outsourced the cataloging to us! Please feel free to attend to your daily responsibilities while we catalog in the background. Our clients take conference calls, attend to newborns, even run out on errands or go out for lunch during their appointment. You get to enjoy your day uninterrupted while we digitize your wardrobe.

We only need about 20 minutes of your time: 10 minutes at the beginning to get started, and another 10 at the end to recap.

We capture all the key data you need to have a super functional digital wardrobe

In addition to a beautiful lay-flat photo, we will capture for each item:

  • Category (Top, Bottom, Outerwear, Dress, Handbag, Shoes, Swim, Jewelry, Accessory)

  • Subcategory (think: T-Shirt, Sweatshirt, Blouse, Sweater, Shirt, etc.)

  • Brand

  • Size

  • Color

  • Item Condition

  • Material

All this data will allow you to easily search and filter your wardrobe from the get-go.

Your digital wardrobe is ready to use instantly

Your items are uploading live into your digital wardrobe as we catalog. By the end of the session, you can instantly browse everything at your fingertips, make outfits, and even create a resale listing directly from your digital wardrobe.

Many of our clients choose to add a Lookbook styling service, giving them a fresh perspective on their newly digitized wardrobe with 10 new professionally styled outfits.

Now that you have a much better understanding of the Pro-Indyx cataloging experience, we hope you are inspired to try it out!
